First Look

We had our first pregnancy scare. Starting last Saturday my pregnancy symptoms started to disapear very quickly. By Monday, the nausea, pain and other symptoms were almost totally gone. Naturally I thought, oh crap! I miscarried! Mostly I was thinking, I just went through 2 months of nausea for nothing! Grrr!!!

On Tuesday I went to my regular appointment with my midwife. She couldn't hear a heartbeat with doppler. While that's not unusual only being 10 weeks along, she said it wouldn't hurt to get an ultrasound. Of course everything is just fine.

I think what happened is that I got a chiropractic adjustment last week. The pain from the adjustment went away around Saturday which is when the unpleasant pregnancy symptoms also started to disapear. My chiropractor did say that he's been able to get rid of nausea for a lot of pregnant women. I just didn't expect it to be so immediate. He gave me an adjustment yesterday so naturally today I'm in a lot of pain and slightly nauseated. I seriously wonder if the nausea is caused by the pain. Time will tell.

Anyway, here's the first look at baby #2. Seeing my baby's little heartbeat was great (and quite a relief)! The heartrate was 170 bpm. I don't remember how long the baby was but acording to this ultrasound, my due date is actually December 29th. I'm definitely interested to see if the 20 week ultrasound says the same thing. Boy, that's cutting it close tex-credit wise. ;) So, when will I start feeling my baby move? I don't remember when I started to feel Alex move. I remember it was a few weeks later than usual but I don't remember when "ususal" is. To all the mothers out there: when did you first feel your babies move?

It's supposed to be around 5 months. I felt this current baby move today (first time) and I'm 4 months, but every other pregnancy I've been late on the "feeling it" side too. I'm glad you didn't miscarry. That would NOT be fun.

I felt Lizzy around 22 weeks, but this second baby I felt for the first time around 14. A high heart rate is supposed to be an indicator of a girl - that would be cool to have one of each! My midwife couldn't find the heartbeat at my 8 week appointment, and we checked it on the ultrasound and of course, it was fine... miscarriage is so scary, though! I had a miscarriage before my 1st pregnancy and it was awful!
