Out of the Blue

Alex never fails to surprise me and touch my heart every single day. Alex is not a touchy-feely kind of kid (and I'm totally fine with that). It means that when Ethan was born, I didn't have to take Ethan to the bathroom with me to make sure that Alex didn't smother him. It also means that Alex doesn't pay much attention to Ethan except to make sure that Ethan doesn't play with his toys. Today when I got Ethan out of his crib Alex said, "I want to hold the baby!" Alex got on the couch and I sat Ethan on his lap. Alex held Ethan and played with his hands. It was so darn cute I nearly cried. It didn't last long because Ethan is not interested in sitting still even for someone as awesome as his big brother. Alex, you are wonderful!

In other news, Alex can say his full name. Yesterday I explained to him that he has a first, middle and last name. He absolutely loves the fact that his middle name is "James." This is probably due to the fact that James is his second favorite train engine. I have got to get a video of Alex saying his full name!

That's so funny! Lizzy loves her "full name" too - but it's hard for her to say, "Elizabeth Marie Gale"
