After about 6 hours of labor and 7 minutes of pushing Ethan came into the world at 10:20 PM, December 17, 2008. He weighs 6 lbs, 7 oz and is about 19 inches long. His apgar scores were 9 & 10. He is the most calm newborn I've ever known! He merely whimpered for a minute after he was born. As soon as he was wrapped up he stopped whimpering and was perfectly content to look around. He didn't even cry when he got his heel poked!
Alex slept through the whole thing. Alex seems interested and accepting of his baby brother but does not yet feel comfortable holding him. I'm sure he'll feel better about it soon.
Although giving birth without drugs was rather painful, it was a wonderful experience to be at home! I am feeling very sore and rather tired but very happy to be able to hold my sweet, cuddly baby!

Oh My GOODNESS! Contratulations! I'm so jealous he came so early but I'm so happy for you guys.
Melissa, He is a beautiful baby, and I'm not just saying that. i think most newborns look funny and old man like, (even my own) I have only seen a few newborns that I thought were beautiful and Ethan makes it the third in my life that I think looks good right after birth. You guys are doing something right :-) and if you do get a little one in a few months, maybe i'll join you lol
