Yikes! It's been a month since I posted to the blog! I have some catching up to do. Anyway, today was Alex's 3rd birthday! This was the first year that Alex was able to blow out the candles by himself. I gave him the choice of a Thomas cake or a Lightning McQueen cake. As you can see, he picked Lightning McQueen. I also gave him the choice between a chocolate cake and a yellow cake. He wanted chocolate. I personally think he has excellent taste! For quite a while now, Alex has been very excited to get a birthday cake. He watched me make it and decided that he didn't want it. He was pretty adamant about it too. When he woke up I asked him if he wanted to see his birthday cake. He said, "No." I picked him up anyway. One look and he changed his tune. His eyes instantly lit up and he said, "that's my special birthday cake!" After that he couldn't wait to blow out his candles and eat his birthday cake. I wish we had gotten a picture of Alex after eating. His teeth, tongue and lips were black. This is the first themed birthday cake I've ever made. Both Joseph and I worked on it. I think it came out really well. It tasted wonderful too! Happy Birthday Alex! You are my favorite 3 year old in the whole world!

That's cute! I'm so excited for Lizzy's birthday! She has also requested a chocolate cake... but she wants tinkerbell! Guess you'd be kind of worried if Alex asked for that!
